Payment problems

This page covers problems paying for a new order or an invoice. For renewals and unpaid invoices, see Invoice and renewal problems.

Why it happens: The decision is made by your bank or card company, not by OmneHosting, and they often do not tell us the reason. Common reasons are not enough money, a card that has expired, a daily spending limit, or a bank that blocks online or international payments by default.

How to fix it:

  1. Check the card number, expiry date, security code and name for typos.
  2. Make sure the card has enough funds and has not expired.
  3. Ask your bank if they blocked the payment or if online or international payments are turned off.
  4. Try a different card or another payment option shown at checkout.
  5. If it still fails, open a ticket and tell us the time you tried and the amount. See Contact support.

The bank asks for verification (3-D Secure) and the payment fails

Section titled “The bank asks for verification (3-D Secure) and the payment fails”

Why it happens: Many banks ask you to confirm the payment in your banking app or with a text message code. If the pop-up is blocked, times out or is closed, the payment fails.

How to fix it:

  1. Allow pop-ups for omnehosting.com and try again.
  2. Approve the request in your banking app or enter the code quickly.
  3. Do not close the checkout page until it finishes.
  4. If your bank never sends a code, call your bank or try another card.

Why it happens: Some banks compare the billing address you type with the one they have on file. A different street, apartment number or postal code can cause a decline.

How to fix it:

  1. Enter your billing address exactly as it appears on your card statement.
  2. Check the postal code and country.
  3. Try again. If it keeps failing, contact your bank to confirm which address they hold.

Payment blocked because the card is international

Section titled “Payment blocked because the card is international”

Why it happens: Some banks block payments to companies outside your country until you allow them.

How to fix it:

  1. Ask your bank to allow online or international payments.
  2. Or use another card or payment option shown at checkout.

PayPal payment is pending or “processing”

Section titled “PayPal payment is pending or “processing””

Why it happens: Some PayPal payments, such as those funded by a bank account, are not instant. PayPal holds them until they clear, and our invoice stays unpaid until PayPal confirms it.

How to fix it:

  1. Open your PayPal activity and check the status of the payment.
  2. Wait for PayPal to mark it completed. Our system updates when PayPal tells us.
  3. If PayPal shows completed for more than a few minutes and the invoice is still unpaid, open a ticket with the PayPal transaction ID.

PayPal never finishes, or I closed the window

Section titled “PayPal never finishes, or I closed the window”

Why it happens: If the PayPal window or tab is closed before you approve the payment, or you are not sent back to OmneHosting, the payment is not completed.

How to fix it:

  1. Go to Invoices in the client area and open the unpaid invoice.
  2. Check your PayPal activity first. If money was taken, wait a few minutes and refresh the invoice.
  3. If nothing was taken, pay the invoice again and stay on the page until you are sent back.
  4. Allow pop-ups for omnehosting.com and paypal.com.

Why it happens: PayPal uses whichever account you are logged in to in that browser.

How to fix it:

  1. If the payment went through, the invoice should still be marked paid. It is not a problem by itself.
  2. If the wrong account was charged by mistake, open a ticket with the transaction ID.
  3. For next time, log out of PayPal or use a private window before paying.

I was charged but the invoice still says unpaid

Section titled “I was charged but the invoice still says unpaid”

Why it happens: Payment confirmations can take a few minutes to reach us. While a payment is processing, the Pay button on the invoice may be hidden.

How to fix it:

  1. Wait a few minutes, then refresh the invoice page.
  2. Do not pay again yet.
  3. If it is still unpaid after that, open a ticket. Include the invoice number, the amount, the date and time, the payment method, and the transaction ID or a screenshot from your bank or PayPal.

Why it happens: This can happen if a payment was submitted twice, for example by clicking Pay again while the page was slow, or if a bank shows a temporary hold next to the real charge.

How to fix it:

  1. Check your bank statement. A pending hold that disappears after a few days is not a second charge.
  2. If two real charges remain, open a ticket right away.
  3. Include both invoice numbers or amounts, dates and transaction IDs.
  4. Do not open a bank dispute first. See “I want to dispute the charge with my bank” below.

Why it happens: This is usually a browser problem, such as an extension blocking a script, a very slow connection, or an expired login.

How to fix it:

  1. Refresh the page and try once more. Check your invoices first so you do not pay twice.
  2. Turn off ad blockers, privacy or script-blocking extensions for omnehosting.com.
  3. Try a private window or another browser.
  4. Make sure you are still logged in.
  5. If it still stalls, open a ticket and tell us your browser, what you clicked and what you saw.

Why it happens: The checkout shows one of these messages: “Coupon code not found”, “Coupon code has expired”, “Coupon code is not active yet”, “Coupon code has reached its maximum uses”, “You have already used this coupon the maximum number of times allowed”, or “Coupon code is not valid for any items in your cart”. Each code can have its own start and end dates, a total use limit, a per-customer limit, and a list of products it covers.

How to fix it:

  1. Type the code again carefully and check for spaces or look-alike letters.
  2. Read the exact message. It tells you which limit you hit.
  3. Check the coupon’s terms and make sure the plan in your cart is one it covers.
  4. Apply the code in the cart before you pay.
  5. If the message is “Too many attempts. Please try again later.”, wait a while before trying again. Several rejected codes in a row from the same network are blocked temporarily.
  6. If you believe the code should work, open a ticket with the code and the message you see.

Coupon discount is gone on the next invoice

Section titled “Coupon discount is gone on the next invoice”

Why it happens: Some discounts apply only to the first billing period. Renewals are then charged at the regular price.

How to fix it:

  1. Open the renewal invoice and check the price shown.
  2. If you were promised a lasting discount, open a ticket with the coupon code and the order details.

Why it happens: The store shows prices in a currency selected on the site. The invoice shows the currency it was created in, and your bank may convert it to your own currency.

How to fix it:

  1. Check the currency on the invoice. That is what you are charged.
  2. Your bank or PayPal decides the exchange rate and may add a fee. We cannot see or change that.
  3. If the currency on the invoice is not what you saw at checkout, open a ticket with a screenshot.

Why it happens: Any tax shown is calculated on your invoice at the time it is created.

How to fix it:

  1. Open the invoice from Invoices in the client area. Tax, if any, is listed there.
  2. For questions about a specific tax line, open a ticket with the invoice number and your country.

Why it happens: The card may have expired, been replaced, hit a limit, or the bank declined the automatic charge.

How to fix it:

  1. Open Invoices and find the unpaid renewal invoice.
  2. Pay it manually with a working card or other payment option.
  3. Pay before the due date. An invoice unpaid 48 hours after its due date can lead to suspension. See Invoice and renewal problems.

Why it happens: OmneHosting has account protection that can block sign-ups, logins and access from listed email domains, banned IP addresses, or accounts it has suspended. It can sometimes catch honest customers too.

How to fix it:

  1. Try again with a normal email address that you own, and turn off any VPN or proxy.
  2. If it is still blocked, open a ticket, or ask on Discord if you cannot log in. Include your account email and what you were trying to buy.
  3. Do not create extra accounts. This can make it worse.

Why it happens: A bank dispute or chargeback can cause your services to be suspended or terminated right away.

How to fix it:

  1. Contact us first. Open a ticket at omnehosting.com/tickets or email support@omnehosting.com.
  2. Tell us what the problem is and include the invoice number, so we can look into it.
  3. For refund rules, see Refunds.

Where do I find my receipt or invoice number?

Section titled “Where do I find my receipt or invoice number?”

Why it happens: Every order and renewal creates an invoice in your client area.

How to fix it:

  1. Log in at omnehosting.com and open Invoices.
  2. Click an invoice to see its number, items, status and payments.
  3. Use the Print or Download PDF buttons at the top of the invoice.
  4. Quote the invoice number in any ticket about that payment.

Open a ticket or ask on Discord. See Contact support.
