Server settings and reinstall
Open Settings in the left menu. It has four tabs: General, SFTP Access, Macros, and Danger Zone.
General
Section titled “General”- Server Name and Description: how your server is labelled in the panel.
- IP Alias: an optional display name for your server address, such as
play.example.com. It changes what is shown, not how players connect.
Press Save after changing them.
Change Egg
Section titled “Change Egg”Change Egg switches your server to different game software without ordering a new plan. It shows your Current egg, and lets you pick one under Switch to and press Change. Changes take effect immediately.
The software you can choose from depends on your game. Back up your server first, because switching can change or remove files. See Backups.
SFTP Access
Section titled “SFTP Access”Shows the address, port, and username for connecting with an SFTP program. See Upload and manage files.
Danger Zone
Section titled “Danger Zone”Reinstall Server runs the original install again. When you reinstall:
- The server is stopped while it runs.
- Configuration files may be overwritten.
- Some game data could be lost or reset.
- It cannot be undone, and it starts immediately.
Create and download a backup first. Reinstall is a last resort. See My server won’t start for other things to try first.
