Server keeps crashing or restarting

Why it restarts by itself

The panel watches your server. If the server stops without you asking, it is treated as a crash and the panel starts it again automatically.

If the server crashes again within 60 seconds of the last crash, the panel stops trying and the console prints Aborting automatic restart, last crash occurred less than 60 seconds ago. That is a sign the server is failing during startup and needs your attention.

How to find the cause

Work through My server won’t start. Those steps apply to most games:

1. Read the last lines of the console.
2. Look at the logs folder in Files.
3. Check for a recently added plugin, mod, or setting.
4. Check that your server has enough memory. See Server ran out of memory.
5. Check that it has enough disk space. See Server is out of disk space.

A scheduled restart is not a crash

If you set up a restart in Schedules, the server stops on purpose and is not treated as a crash. See Schedules.
